This week we've been busy finishing off this term's Egyptian Quest by doing all things Egyptian! The children have been learning about the God and Goddesses the Ancient Egyptians used to worship and the process of mummification. They learnt how they preserved their dead, ready for the afterlife, using natron (a type of salt). To experience the effect of how salt dries things out, the children mummified an apple! We are looking forward to seeing what happens to the apples after a two week drying process.
The children used clay to make an Egyptian Cartouche and carved their names in it using hieroglyphs. We even had time to sculpt an Egyptian Sarcophagus.
Ancient Egyptian Fact Files
The children have learnt lots this term and created these beautiful fact files to showcase their learning.
