This week, our online learning will have a PSHE focus. We will be exploring "Living in the Wider World - Aiming High" ready for our transition to secondary school. We will have a mixture of live stream activities with our peers and independent, reflection tasks.
During the afternoon, we will have a play rehearsal and the opportunity to make some props for our play.
Tuesday 29th June
This morning, we thought about what we have achieved during our time at primary school and the qualities we needed to earn these. We took a quiz about learning styles to find out how we learn best so we are aware of this as we move to secondary school.
As our independent task, we reflected on the sort of learner we are and presented this in our own creative ways. We also presented our qualities as a star but considering these questions:
What have you achieved? What are you good at? Which skills and interests do you have that make you, you? What do others like about you? Why are you special?
During the afternoon, we rehearsed our play online and made some paper lantern props for our performance.

Wednesday 30th June
This morning, we thought about how successful learners overcome challenges. We considered helpful and unhelpful attitude to learning as we move into secondary school.
We also considered power and privilege and how not all people are born with the same opportunity and chance; this is especially important to consider as we've about to meet a whole new diverse group of people next year! We thought carefully about what we consider to be 'the norm' and whether these perceptions need to be questioned.
As our independent task, we create inspirational quote posters to motivate and inspire others to be the best they can be. We also completed a research task where we chose someone with are inspired by in the public eye. There are some wonderful examples of our learning below.
During the afternoon, we rehearsed our play online and made some Arabian jewellery cuffs for our play.
Thursday 1st July
This morning, we reflected on opportunities that we have had a primary school, and opportunities that we will have at secondary school in our breakout rooms. We thought carefully about why we should seize opportunities as they arise. We also worked in groups to give advice using scenario card to children who were contemplating how to respond to different opportunities.
As our independent task, we reflected on our on personal opportunities that we will look out for in the future - including those that will help us learn, gain a skill, visit, or simply try. Take a look at some of our reflections below.

Friday 3rd July
This week, we have explored how we learn, how to overcome setbacks, and being open to new opportunities. But how can we make sure we have the confidence to do these things?
This morning, we explored the "fight" or "flight" response. We then created our own confidence masks with all of the qualities we need to feel confident. During our independent activity, we reflected on a time when we had a thought or an opinion that was different to those around us. Were we able to voice it? Were we respectful? What was the outcome? What this successful?
