It was so lovely to have a break away from the screen today and have a day filled with Winter Watch activities!

#adventurous

During WWII, people had to ‘black out’ their homes at night so that enemy bombers could not see where to bomb. Whole cities descended into darkness. Where would we be without light? This afternoon, we completed a Science experiment to explore how light travels.

We visited Paignton Zoo on Friday to explore the habitats of different species. We read about what happened to the animals in London Zoo during the war and how they were evacuated to the countryside.

We thought about what life would be life for creatures during the war whilst being transported to a new home; we've written from the perspective of these animals.

We visited Paignton Zoo on Friday to explore the habitats of different species. We read about what happened to the animals in London Zoo during the war and how they were evacuated to the countryside.

We completed an activity to design a new enclosure to such unique animals using a given budget. What fantastic ideas we had.

#ethical

For our homework this week, we wrote balanced arguments about whether Neville Chamberlain made an ethical decision to declare war on Germany. We thought very maturely to phrase our own arguments.

#connected

Some fantastic independent WW11 research idea with some interesting interviews with family members about their experiences during the war.
