Week 3: Props are nearly made, lines are being learnt! This week for our home learning, we will be sorting out our costumes. Next week, we have our first technical rehearsal in the Forum on Wednesday. We won't need costume for this but we will be able to see where we will be sitting and changing etc when we're off stage.

We also had our final sports day at SVSJ. What a wonderful time we had. Everyone achieved so well but a special well done to Rhys and Channa for winning the boy/girl sprint races #fastestintheschool

Week 2: This week, we have managed to work our way through Act 2 of our script. Our home learning over the next week is to learn our lines for this act, as well as all song lyrics.

We explored a speech from Theseus and a section of a play script from episodes 1 and 2 of "A Midsummer Nights Dream" on BBC Radio. Here is the link if you would like to rewatch these at home: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p081xt5w

Week 1: This week, we have managed to work our way through Act 1 of our script. We have been incredibly patient and resilient and are having lots of fun exploring new drama techniques. We thought carefully about "spreading butter" on stage to make sure all performers are spread out appropriately. Our home learning over the next week is to learn our lines for this act, as well as all song lyrics.

As a class, we spent time exploring the current performing arts guidance so that we are aware how we can safely perform our play this term to you. We have each written a letter to our local MP to articulate some of our thoughts surrounding the guidance.
