This week (WC 23rd Nov) we have begun to plan our new adventure story based on the story 'Float by Daniel Miyares. 

Using the sheet provided below (independent write success criteria), can you begin to map out what happens at different points in your story? You only need to write brief notes for each plot point and collect some sentences and words you might use in your final write. The story we read was about a paper boat. What could your character make from paper? A hat, an animal, a plane etc. 

 

Activity 2/3:

 

Use your story plan you wrote yesterday to start to write your story. Think about writing a paragraph for each plot point. Try to remember the different sentence structures we've looked at in class this term. Take your time and ensure you have at least 3 sentences per paragraph, but no more than 9 sentences per paragraph. Good luck - we look forward to reading what you've written. You can either take a photo or type your story and then submit your story through Teams or email, whichever is easiest.

In art this term, we have been studying Andy Warhol. Using the picture below as inspiration, can you create your own 'Ethel Skull Thirty-Six Times' using a picture of yourself or someone else in your family? Or, you could research more of his art work and create something else inspired by his artwork.

This week in History, we have been learning to compare and contrast two city-states of ancient Greece: Athens and Sparta. 

 

These two city states were ruled by two different governments and life was very different depending on where you lived. 

 

Watch the video (and look at the PDF for more information) to compare Athens and Sparta. Draw a table and discuss the differences in lifestyle, education, government, economy and women.
