Chinese New Year
We have been looking at the story of the Chinese Zodiac. If your child wants to find out which animal they are, please go to the following site...
Chinese New Year: The Chinese Zodiac (topmarks.co.uk)
Having looked at the animals in the race, it would be wonderful if they could see what characteristics that animal has, do they have a similar personality to that animal?
FRENCH
In French we learned about La Galette des Rois. The Festival of the Kings takes place on 6 January, the 12th day after Christmas, when Christians celebrate Epiphany, the arrival of the Three Kings after the birth of Jesus.
This is a Kings’ Cake, a special cake made of pastry and almonds. A charm is hidden inside the cake and whoever receives the piece of cake with the charm () in it, becomes king () or queen () for the day. They wear a special crown ().
Anne-Claude kindly made the special cake for us and we shared this in class. Nearly everyone tried a piece and Kenzi found the charm (la feve) and became King for the day!
