This term, our focus will be on improving our phonics skills in preparation for the phonics screening check next term. We aim to ensure that all children in Year 1 have the essential foundations to become fluent readers. Those who are already fluent will use these skills to write more advanced sentences and understand longer texts. Please, support your child by listening to them read regularly and revisiting their phonics lessons from their green homework book.
